About a year and a half after the great washing machine flood that lead to gutting and rebuilding two rooms, it's time to tackle the kitchen. Whoever built this house installed the back door wrong. Now there's noticeable rot in about a foot and a half radius around the door. And what's worse is none of the subfloor is treated wood and neither is the bottom plate. I'm ripping out and replacing the entire kitchen floor and the back door this weekend. Much beer will need to be consumed for this project.

About a year and a half after the great washing machine flood that lead to gutting and rebuilding two rooms, it's time to tackle the kitchen. Whoever built this house installed the back door wrong. Now there's noticeable rot in about a foot and a half radius around the door. And what's worse is none of the subfloor is treated wood and neither is the bottom plate. Man. That sucks. Is your house on stilts? You always seem to find more and more wrong.

In NC for work. Had a Carolina Brewing Co. Pale Ale (wasn't impressed), a Foothills Hopyum IPA (quite good), and a Mother Earth Sisters of the Moon IPA (pretty good) tonight. No pics so it didn't happen.

On blocks. Yep, it's one thing after another with this house. Slowly I'll make my way through each room and redo them. A lot of money I wish I could spend on beer instead.
