More kombucha...going to Baseball at Ritter Park at 5:30. Home by 8:00...then maybe a beer or two. @ Hello. Don't make me drag that lake.

My Rye Pale Ale.

Bottle shop run because payday. I've got the normal Black Butte and Grapefruit Sculpin in the fridge for later tonight, the rest waiting (except for waxed bombers which are being held onto).

Zombie. Had to come home since the wait is over an hour for my phone to be ready. Not happy about it either. Got a tablet for the first time courtesy of swmbo. HBT is first app installed on this though. :)

Just ran to get the little one, and now it is time to negate the exercise.

A tot of bourbon while cutting the chicken and kale for din-din.

Water. There is about to be a lot of beer consumed tonight though.

Begin long rant:

I came home early from a super easy day at work today in a great mood, until I went down to the basement.

Flashback 2 weeks ago. There was a local brewing competition held. It was called Iron Brewer. Everyone showed up with their homebrew setup, we all draw a random ingredient, have one hour to formulate a recipe, and start brewing. I ended up with licorice root. I brewed up a Belgian Dubbel. Brew day went super smooth, hit all my numbers, wort was tasting fantastic.

Back to today. I have one of those SS Brew Tech Brew Buckets with the FTS temp control system. For those not familiar, it's basically a metal coil that sits down in the wort. Then I have a cooler full of water next to it. I either add ice, or a fish tank heater to it, depending if I need to cool or heat the wort to keep it at the desired temp. This has been working fantastic for the past couple months.

They recently came out with "extensions" for it, to make the coil sit farther down into the fermenter to get more accurate heating and cooling. I purchased those, and installed them before I added the wort I made for this competition. Well, apparently, I didn't tighten them down enough and they became loose. Today, while it was heating up, it decided to leak, and it sucked all 8 gallons of water I had in the cooler, and placed it inside the fermenter, causing the fermenter to overflow, and spill all over the table and the ground! Not the way I wanted to spend my evening.

End rant

Short version... Batch of beer is shot. Don't have enough time to re-brew for the competition judging. F*ck this week.

That's horrible. Would you still recommend the Brew Bucket? I've been thinking of getting one.

Fitz's is better.

Had a decent day today. Decided not to work today. Been working way too much recently and I'm worn out. Slept in and had a great lunch.

And a small pick up from the store.

Where/what was that wondrous concoction? My arteries are getting harder just looking at it.

Post fishing beer. Caught and released 10 fish!

The real question is, did you hook the big fish? :D

It's called the Rancor burger. And it's every bit as delicious and messy as it looks. Big patty, cheese, thick bacon and a perfectly cooked egg on top. So frikkin good.
