All you folks with bad weather... Come to Florida! With our retirees, crazy people, hot alkaline ground water, and no basements, you'll never want to leave! High is 62 today. Drinking water trying to get hydrated for the weekend.

It was a long and painful 2-hour commute to my kids' daycare and the supermarket. 22-mile round trip took 2 hours.

The roads are atrocious. Ice underneath snow. I live on top of a monstrous hill and every which way possible to my house is uphill. I saw a few spinouts and rear-wheel drive cars/vans trying to get up monstrous hills - not happening. Thank God I could. I pulled into my driveway and the FedEx guy flagged me down because he didn't think he'd make it out of my driveway had he went down it. :D

Coff. I have to hurry the **** up and heat strike water if I am going to brew this mofo.

Nothing about that sounds enticing, I love my snow thank you very much. :rockin:

Boss said to come in, roads not bad. Boss didn't come in, now I'm doing bosses work.

Coffee until I can coffee no more. Can not wait to get out of here and walk through the beer store for an hour.

Don't forget the 10 months of swamp-ass, it's the best part of Florida!
On the water.

So what's a good alternative to melanoidin malt? LHBS dosent have it, and ive never done a decoction... LHBS says victory is a subsitute... that dosent make sense

Aromatic is sometimes used as is Munich. I have no experience using it though.

Ah yes! Nothing like brewing when it's 95° and 90% humidity all summer long. I think I lose about 10 lbs on brew day. Makes you want to stand right next to the burner :)

What's goin down in brew town? And how's that beer? Mcbaumannerb sent me a few. Haven't got to them yet.

The beer is awesomely awesome. I've had it before. Totally dig it.

I am brewing a pretty simple beer to have as a house (mild) IPA. German pils with some munich, Columbus and Citra. S-04.

Just got caught staring at that picture. Chief engineer gave me a pat on the back and said, "Almost done buddy" lol...

Tastes better than it looks. Just sayin'. :D

For anyone that has a few minutes to read. This is from the father, who's son owns one of my towns' breweries, OEC: http://nepenthiology.com/fermentation-pit-project-part-ii

He's an awesome and intelligent dude. I haven't had the chance to crush a beer with him although I have met him about a dozen times.

Here is the man, the myth, behind the counter at his son's brewery, OEC.
