So I’m discussing the fact that today, April 7th is National Beer Day with my daughters. Then I get back this timely text from Beer-Loving Daughter #3, encouraging me to enjoy a beer that best represents each of my Beer-Loving Daughters!

Anyone who knows a serious beer drinker knows that kind of encouragement can’t go unanswered! Also anyone who’s going to write about beer nearly every single day has to be on the search for constant and fresh, beer related topics!

Today we are cracking open three different beers, one which represents each of them in some way. My daughters may not have had these, but Ol’ Beermeister32 is tuned-in enough to what these girls like, that I’ll make out the picks for them. I’m drinking these girls, go out and buy your own!

Seriously though, we are all separated by distance, so do your best. Beer-Loving Daughter #1, currently moving to San Diego and loving Pilsners like Paulaner is sure to dig San Diego’s own Alesmith and their Anvil Pilsner. Beer Loving Daughter #2 is a coffee and Stout junkie, and liking brews like Seattle’s Fremont Dark Star Stout. For my pick, Old Rasputin! Look up the old Anastasia story, you’ll never look at it the same way again! Final beer pick needs no introduction, one of Beer-Loving Daughter #3’s favorites, Anchor Steam. We’re still waiting for the new owner to start up production again, so far shelves are barren of Anchor – I’m having to dip into the Beermeister32 strategic reserve, and it’s thinning out quick! Enjoy!

Doing my first Ramen tonight as a test for son's BD. Son and DiL love Ramon. Went to Goodwill to look for Ramen bowls. None found but came out with this for $.83! Good timing as I can't seem to locate my other PhP glass. 🤔

HB Helles in proper glassware 😉

After my lawnmower beer a brother in law came by with wine-2000 personal stash red, and a bottle of Port from around 1980-90. Then others showed up with more wine . Had a great evening with family, once again drank and ate too much. Here's the port, my wife and sister in law drank all but the one glass I got.

I think the beer Gods have been looking favorably on me. No sooner do I grumble that I can’t find any Warsteiner (except a few mixed boxes,) and then THESE show up! Like I’ve said before, see them, BUY THEM! Buy Them All! When we are talking tasty German brews from distant shores, who the heck knows what the shipping status is. Stock up!

I had Warsteiner a few beers back. I’m really enjoying Warsteiner Pilsener a whole heck of a lot more than that unfiltered brownish concoction from last week.

To put a fine point on that “Stock up” comment – I’ve noticed a lot of German Pilsners don’t get shipped in the July-September time period, as the brewers and distributors are busy stocking up all the Festbiers and Oktoberfest brews into the US. If you are a Pilsner fan like I am, you need to lean in to the situation by stocking up on your Pilsners early in the summer, stocks can get thin around the Oktoberfest celebration. This way I have a stock of Pilsner to drink through that magic time of year… Prost!
