Heading to Astoria Or./Long Beach Wa. For 4 days just to chill with my wife. Eat lots of fish and oysters......

Gotta get a new battery for the car & do some tests. By then, hopefully, I can bottle some English bitter & get some vinegar started.

Working. There's a lot of time and not much square footage going on today.

I have almost finished packing up two rooms of my house. Everything left if SWMBO's to sort through.

Currently I'm cleaning a couple bottles out of the beer fridge.

Drinking old homebrew to free up bottles for new homebrew, whilst watching football.

It's rough.

Touching up some pointing around some new windows on the house before the winter gets here. Fun, fun, fun ....time for a cold one.

Bottling a batch and building an in door plant setup to grow some pepper clones over the winter.

I'm hoping my ordinary bitter's settled out finally so I can get that gallon of vinegar started & bottle the rest. Check & see if the Hellfire IIPA's ready for dry hopping & peppering.

Watching my PS (post Spurrier) Gamecocks take on Vanderbilt to see who rules the cellar of the SEC...

Then I'll brew tomorrow!

Working the good old nightshift. Then hopefully my last ingredients for my next brew show up monday

Taking the third of three BJCP exams - twenty true/false questions and five essays. I'm expecting to receive a communique from Gordan Strong afterwards encouraging me to pursue another hobby . . .

Just finished screwing down the underlayment for my new powder room floor. Whenever my wife talks me into something like this I learn something new. In this case, how to replace a subfloor, and what exactly a mud bed is, and how long it takes to remove one with a brick hammer.

We did a lot of that at the old house we sold. New floors from the subfloor up, new walls, new ceilings, new carpet & kitchen, etc. It was a lot of work, but it turned out great. If the house had been originally built on a rise, I'd have kept it. Gotta get to work on that bitter...

I'm heading to a guys' night: a cigar festival at the Potawatomi Casino in Milwaukee. We went last year and it was great. Steaks (or slices off a steamship) cigars, chocolates, nice Scotch, more cigars, etc. We each came home with about 25 good cigars and all sorts of goodies like lighter fuel, travel carriers, Boveda packs, chocolates, gift certs, etc.

Actually, that sounds pretty good. I like those crooks they sell in the pouch, the dark ones. They sweat the harsher part of the resins out of the tobacco before rolling. Good taste, as Sam Clemens also thought. Sample of ordinary bitter clear & good, @ FG finally. Vinegar making & bottling day.

I'm upgrading my eHERMS 50A kal clone system to a true back-to-back system by adding a third pump. Each vessel will have it's own pump which will allow me to do a whirlpool, chill and transfer in my boil kettle without interrupting my mash.

I just moved to ottawa. Now im unpacking and plotting routes to the nearby amenities. Timmies, hardware store, bus stations, sushi...

Mounted the new low pressure burner under the HLT and tested the temp controller (using a ITC-308 and a Honeywell 8200) for the HERMS setup. All is well so far; should be able to do a test brew next weekend.

I been traveling around the country in a motorhome, visiting family and trying beers from various places. Sometimes the beer is a little hard to find as I don't have a lot of time in everywhere I've been. I did make it to Descutes Brewery and enjoyed that, just the other day we. I visited Sierra Nevada in North Carolina so I have been to both of their breweries now. When I get back home to auburn, ca I plan to brew my first homebrew.mim excited about that!

Brewed yesterday, so today is honey-do list: Raking, putting the rest of the lawn furniture away, mow the lawn, errands (which WILL include a stop at Northern Brewer to get oatmeal stout ingredients) and handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters, which starts around noon.

Every year, it's funny because kids don't start showing up until halftime during the Packer game. They have a bye week, so I'm sure the kids will start showing up right at noon.
