Brewing a pumpkin ale right now, and its not been the smoothest, and the sessions isnt even over yet!

First off, my stove decided to stop working for about 5 mins. Then I had a boil over. Then I miss my 15 min hop addition and got it in at 10, and when I was supposed to put the spices in at 5, I forgot and the boil will be for 65 mins.

I know it'll still turn out great, but I need to pay more attention!!! lol

I hope clean up goes well now.

I've taken to using a little fan and aiming it at the top of the brew kettle to prevent boil overs. Might work for you if you have one handy.

Just a suggestion! Enjoy your newest brew!

It will turn out fine. If you boil it a bit longer to make your hop/spice addition, it really won't matter too much.

And look on the bright side, the 15 minute hop addition that you added at 10 is now a 15 again, if that makes any sence!

Here is my thoughts, you had lots of little problems/errors this brew, that is still better than one large catastrophic boo-boo like say having your whole brew rig yanked down by your dog (I wish I could find that thread again) your beer will be fine, you corrected the 10 min addition by forgetting the spices thus forcing you to boil 5 min longer. The hard part will be replicating it when it turns out to be the best beer ever.

I think we've all got some "great" catastrophe stories. Some of mine include one roommate coming in while I was cooling the wort in the sink, only to release a MASSIVE sneeze towards to brew kettle. This was followed momentarily by my other roommate dipping a spoon into the kettle to taste the wort. Sigh.... though everything is thus far good to go still!

Ouch bad roomies! My lay batch went kind of like that. I misread the recipe and got my hop additions backwards. I realized my mistake partway through and added a third hop addition in the middle to get the ibus right. So it won't taste like it was intended at least it might still be good. Then while cooling my wort I slipped knocked my airlock to the floor and stepped on it. Luckily my lhbs isn't far away so I was able to grab a new one pretty quick. I'm kind of a clutz

I don't mean any offense, but I'm not sure how you make that many timing mistakes unless you were completely hammered or just not paying attention, or both. The oven was out of your control, but the rest is just lack of attention. Maybe I'm a little more anal retentive, but I watch my brew like a hawk during the full 60 minutes of the boil.
