Anyone have experience making a brown ale using wet hops? I often see wet hopped beers as IPA's.

The reason I ask is that I have some Amallia hops growing and the only feedback I've found on Amallias is that they are earthy and sometimes have a little orangey characteristic, and are recommended for brown ales.

Any experience with either wet hopping brown ales or using Amallia hops?

Go for it. Use commercial hops for bitterimg and I would use 25% to 50% more finishing hops using home grown hops as they can be a bit "weaker" than commercial hops. But for a brown you might be fine with what the recipe calls for since browns don't have a bunch of hops in them.
