So after endless reading I ordered a 80L Bayou classic pot for my electric brew build.Apparently the ones with the basket supported on a lip for the element to fit only come in smaller sizes. This one the basket hits the bottom(no lip). So any advise on a different kettle for my build. Id like to do 10 gallon batches. Anyone doing EBIAB 10 gallon batches with the smaller one.I think it was 60l.It seems like the perfect pot for it

could you modify the basket and make it like a hop spider? - with some long bolts attached to the very top of the basket as a way of making it (the basket) catch?

I guess I could get some SS bolts nuts and washers, crank it down through the holes on the basket and rest bolts on the pot rim? should I assume Ill never put the lid on for a one vessel BIAB setup? It just wont look very pretty..And that's a shame for the work Im putting in to building it.

I not sure you ever want to put a lid on for a boil, well I guess if you need to retain heat for the boil, but it traps in DMS when doing a grain batch. (Extract doesn't have a DMS problem, or much less of one).

Yes it will look "ugly" it is more a matter of 'how soon do you want to brew' and 'can you afford to get the desired kettle first'

I returned it and got this one.It says it has a "steamer rim" We'll see what happens. It seems a boil pot has no room for an element and a steamer pot does:smack::
