Weldless bulkhead or silver solder

So I am upgrading stuff slowly and the next step is my kettle. I'm going to get a 15g polarware kettle with no fittings for $90 and I was curious about what kind of fitting I should put on.
Should I get a 1/2" weldless setup or should I go with silver solder so I don't have to replace gaskets ever often?

After walking away from my HLT as it heated up and returning to an empty pot and a wet driveway I soldered everything in place.
Gaskets leak but once something is properly silver soldered it should last.
