A buddy and me have brewed a lot of batches and so this problem that I'm having with a new batch is peculiar to say the least.
We did a Rye IPA and split the batch between us. He has zero problems, but I'm getting a ridiculous amount of excessive foaming. The only difference I can think of is that maybe the temperature I kept bottles at was a little cooler than normal.
Any ideas?

How long did you let your bottles sit and condition before you put them in the fridge? Did your buddy wait the same amount of time or was it less?

We both waited the same amount of time. Like I said, only difference I can think is bottles were in a cooler place before I put in fridge.
We also did another brew and there were no issues.

If they were in a cooler place then maybe the beer absorbed a little more CO2 during the prime. Bottle condition temps make a noticeable difference in your beer. Beer tends to absorb more gas when its colder. Just like trying to force carb when kegging.

Any idea on what is considered too cold? We put them in our kitchen which isn't well insulated and so always feels cool. I'm guessing temp was around 65 degrees while bottles were conditioning, maybe a little cooler.

The colder the temperature during the bottle conditioning the longer it will take to be right. Also how long you refrigerate will make a difference. How cold was the conditioning? I would say you need to give it more time, warm them up for a shorter period of time, or both. Then give them a few days in the fridge.
