I am afraid of forgetting about the level of water in my HLT and the water getting lower than my electric element. I have been looking a various water level float switch's, most seem to be made out of plastic and maybe some stainless steel. With the water at high temperatures I am afraid of getting one so cheap that it would be damaged.
What do you guys use as a float switch to turn off the element at the SSR before the level of water is below the element?

I don't think many have a float. At least for me Ive just programmed myself to always turn the heater element off first before doing anything else. So far I've done at least 75 brews on my setup without any issues. Cheers
