I mean, I just can't get this kind of stuff here. So I took advantage.

And now me = broke.

But still some good tasting soon. :D

Also pursuant to the other thread I started not long ago, YES, this beer is going to be lasting me a LONG TIME. But, that's ok. At least it's good beer. I was able to secure some beer similar to what I have brewed, so now I have comparisons, and I appreciate that. (Belgian Tripel).

Nice haul, but I have to wonder where you live that you can't find dogfish head stone or rogue. Happy drinking:mug:

Well I can promise you there is one state where one can't purchase Dogfish head or Stone or Rogue.

Nice. You must either be rich or love beer. I know that cost a pretty penny.

It did cost, but as I said I can't get any of that here, so ... It's a "stock up" sort of mantra. And in case you didn't see my other thread, my wife doesn't support drinking, so that beer will literally last me almost a year. It's ok... that topic is in that thread, not this one. So it'll really last me a long time....

Or I could just stick with Coors Light or SNPA that I can get in my state... O_O (and yes, I can get the SNPA but not any of the Sierra Nevadas I'm showing in the pics, in my state).

((Yes my state has the worst beer selection in the United States.))

Dogfish head doesn't make its way to Alabama yet (didnt bother due to the 6% ABV limit law). Most of the rogues are here but the Stones really havent been seen yet. I have had a few when I drive to see friends in florida though. Tasty, tasty brews.

The only two beers you showed I can not speak for is the stingo and storm king (I have had victories Hop Devil, which was pretty tasty)

The Stingo was good for sure -- but reminded me too much of Southern Comfort, and I had a bit of a problem getting over that.... (interpret that how you will).

Umm...I can find some Rogue here (Wyoming), but I finally tasted some Stone and DFH on my recent trip to Vegas.

Rural areas just do not have much of a selection. Funny thing, though, I can get Chimay, and some other belgian (Trappist even) beer here, but not DFH or Stone. Distribution is a funny pig.

If you're going to be drinking those over the course of a year, I'd drink the hoppier beers first (all the Stone stuff) and let the bigger, maltier beers age. Especially that Great Divide Barelywine, which has their old style label and is already at least 2 years old.

Great idea -- I appreciate the suggestion. And I'll do it. Some of them have a "drink by" date. I didn't look most of the dates on the bottle, but this store is so huge and is reviewed as not tremendously careful with their beer dates, so I kind of accepted that some of them might not be fresh. Then again like you said some of them will age nicely.

And I wondered why that Great Divide had such a starkly different label. Didn't think to check the date. 2 years old already, huh.... hmmmm....

Yep, you got a gem there. Most people aren't patient enough to age a beer that long and a barleywine is one that really benefits from it. I've got one of each of the oak aged Yeti's sitting in my closet. I'm hoping to get at least a year on them and then have a tasting.
