Right now I'm drinking the last bottle of my first home brew, AHBS's Texas Blonde Ale. It poured out a nice golden bronze-ish color, thick head, but no lacing. I still remember brewing this beer back in Oct of 2007. Oh the many mistakes I made. Granted they were small mistakes, but they didnt cause any major problems. The only one that affected it, was that I only had 4.5 gallons of water max in the primary, so the OG was higher then it was supposed to be.

But here it is Feb of 2009, and I've done almost 10 more beers, and they have all gone a little bit smoother during the brew day, and the beers have turned out good if not fantastic!

This past Sunday, I brewed my first Imperial IPA and it was also my first full boil! :ban:

So heres to you Texas Blonde Ale! Thanks for being my first and letting me know, that even I, can make great beer! :mug:

Wow, your first lasted 15 months?!? That's amazing! Between giving them away and my own prodigious thirst, I always seem to be on the verge of running out.

But back to the topic - sounds like a great first batch :mug:

Being deployed to the middle east last year and brewing a lot when I got back helped preserve a few. :rockin:

Ironic.

I just opened a 22-oz bottle of my Kolsch on February 14th. Marked the two year bottling anniversary.

Also passed over a Dec-31, 2006 English Ale in the fridge. Passed it over for a Feb-2007 Stout. :D

I always make a habit of stashing a 12 pack or several bombers somewhere and forgetting about them. 90% of the time it works out great...10% of the time it doesn't.

You need to drink more! hehehehehe =)

I'm almost through my first... Dec 08.... Dude you just don't drink fast enough! =)

Most of my first batch was gone before the green went away. I did manage to keep one bottle that I'm supposed to drink with a friend..... Don't think its gonna make it cause I gotta brew club meeting this friday and I wanna bring some homebrew with me. As it is, my porter has only been in the bottle for 2 weeks and a 6er is already gone. CAN'T....SEEM....TO....STAY....AWAY...!!!!! :drunk:

It's not like I don't drink at all, I just saved that one for a later date. I still have at least 5 bottles of my second batch, which is a stout.

I do drink my HB thats in keg pretty fast. haha.

Another thing that makes me drink it slower then most, is that I buy a LOT of commercial beer. I go to the beer store on a weekly basis and leave with at least $25 worth of beer every time.
