Does anyone have an extract recipe for a warsteiner clone. Guy gave me a couple the other night, and I liked what I had. Is this just a German lager, or some other sub-style?

I think if you brew up a german lager, you'll come close, I would think... Warsteiner is not as bitter or hoppy as a Dutch type lager. But I've always wondered if Warsteiner didn't have just a little bit of wheat in it...

Thanks. Iwasn't sure that was all there was to it. The Warsteiner tasted like a Dos Equis or maybe even a Killian's red. I'll dig around and see what I can find for a German Lager recipe.

Damn Monkey Man, I feel like such an idiot...there's a Warsteiner in Clone Brews. You've got to steep some grains, but hell, I know you've got a strainer:

Crush and steep in 1/2 gal. 150F water for 20 min.
6 oz. 2.5L German light crystal malt
1/2 lb. German Munich Malt

Strain and sparge w/ 1/2 gal. 150F water. Add water to make 1.5 gal, boil, then add:
6.6 lb. light LME
2 ox Tettnanger @ 4.5% (9 HBU)

Add water to 2.5 gal. Boil for 45 min. then add:
1/3 oz. Hallertau
1 tsp. Irish Moss

Boil for 15 min.

Yeast: Wyeast 2124 Bohemian lager yeast, or, Wyeast's 2206 Bavarian lager yeast.

Bottle with 1 1/4 cup extra-light DME

Again, sorry I didn't pass this on sooner :(

El P.,
Thank you very much ! If I can't actually lager it, should I use a different yeast ? Can't , as yet, talk the family into giving up the fridge.
Like the new avatar. It's not as spacy, but somehow spookier than the last one. My sides still hurt from the new signature. I know it's a play on the teach a man to brew, which pulls from the teach a man to fish one, but yours is funny as Hell! Keep on !
