Hello all...

New as new can be, don't even have a bucket yet.

Of course when I hit "homebrew forums" on the good old Google,, this was the first place that came up. I've been reading as a lurker the past week and have seen that this place has ALLOT of good information. Since tomorrow i plan on spending my very little money to get me some equipment I figured it was time to register and say "hello" since I am almost positive I will be picking your brains and experience for HELP!!!

I'm pretty sure that I will start with a couple of beer "kits" for the first couple go arounds, but i am really anxious to make "my beer". I now think I understand that to make "my beer", I will have to move to "all-grain"...? not that i know what "my beer" is, but i really want to create (not that it hasnt been done before) my blend. i hope i'm talking/thinking right.

I'm partial to the darker beers so one of first kit attempts will definatley be a stout.

well, just wanted to say hello so when you see me posting a TON of questions in the coming months you all wont be like "who the He** is this guy"

Jake

If you're like most of us here, you have no idea what you're getting yourself into. I mean that in a good way. Welcome aboard Jake, and best of luck on your first brew.

Kegging is what i would love to work up too. Not sure i want to "start" there. but a nice 2-3 keg tap set would be nice. if i am a lucky one and this works out for me then i am sure the kegs will be in my future.

While the bottling process may be a bit more work, I find that I can have 6-9 different beers conditioned and ready to drink. There is no way I can do that if I kegged. So for me, bottling is the way I prefer to be obsessed.

I am new and in Va about 100 miles north I should start next weekend waiting for equipment I have ordered
