Taste anything like Kopparbergs? My wife loved that stuff the last time we were in the Kingdom of Fife (see my avatar). Would love a recipe.

Congrats! That looks really yummy!

But due to the strict quality control standards on this board, I think some of us may need to come over to Scotland and do a taste testing just to be sure that it doesn't contain anything hazardous that may make you go blind or something, LOL!

Hello Folks,And to Fifelee! wheres power MT? Yeah its cider kit called Magnum Pear Cider worth every penny! Its not as sweet as Kopperbergs but when you burp it tastes like Pear drop boiled sweets yum!

MT is for Montana. If Canada is the USA's hat, Montana is an eyebrow. Lived in Edinburgh for a year. I fell in love with real ale my wife fell in love with Pear cider. Glad to have a Scotsman on this board.

Oh Bulmers!

I thought it was funny that when I went out to some Pubs in Ireland all the local young people drank Bulmers instead of beer.

Any way you can find out the recipe for the pear cider?

Magnum Pear cider from The Home Brew Shop, its a 1.7kg kit with yeast and flavouring included, the can is a thick condensed pear juice that you mix with 1.3kgs of sugar (I used brewing sugar...also in the site) and water, pretty straight forward instructions,my twist was 100grams of Lyles Golden Syrup added with sugar to prime the keg after fermentation, job done :mug:

Im kind of awe struck at the lack of Scots on this forum as were renowned fr our love of the brew:) Yes I frequent Edinburgh from time to time, still to get over to your neck of the woods someday! All Hail to the Ale n all that Jazz! yeh It was my pops that got me into the Real Ale several years back,There was a R.A. festival in the quaint little town of Kingussie just south of Aviemore and we had a 3 hour window from the Ladies to tinker with! 13 pints each later (all different varieties) we were scraped up and escorted home, and no hangover the next morning, that was the added bonus that made my mind up lol!

Heres some more photos of the fruits of my labour not that Im being modest you undestand!......... Pear Cider on the left & Real Ale on the right, the last ones my Springer Spaniel Alfie guarding the spoils lmfao! just started the Mexican Cerveza and an Apple n Pear Cider mix, should start bubbling away in the next few days!
