I have and am used to old fridges that have a common space that includes the ice box/cooling unit. I don't know much about this beast...yet.

I have a few days before I can start digging into it. In the meantime, I am hoping someone here can give me some in-site on the innards of this fridge. I am not looking to do a complete rebuild (at least not at this point), but I do want to get is set up to dispense.

What I would like to do is run the beer lines up through the the top of the fridge/freezer floor and put the faucets on the freezer door. Currently, there is a drain hole that goes through. I would like to either enlarge that hole, or add more...what I am wondering is if there could be cooling coils in that space.

Anyway here it is...yesterdays Craigslist treasure...pretty good shape and it works well. I does need some adjustment on the freezer latch...it doesn't quite engage. simple fix.

It's just shy (about 1") of enough space to add a 3rd 1/6th keg, but I have a plan to modify or build a new interior panel for the fridge door to give me the space needed. That's a bit down the road though.

Thanks for looking and for any help or advice!

I would be leery of drilling up through into the freezer space, but I'm not familiar with how these older top freezer units are set up. Is there a separate thermostat for the freezer, or a single thermostat that controls both?

Just a thought, but it would be kinda cool if you hide the taps in the freezer. You open the freezer door to reveal a small tower or something. a "sneakerator" just a thought

There is a single control in the fridge space. I believe there are cooling coils on the sides of the fridge space and possible on the top partition between the fridge & freezer.

I wouldn't blindly drill holes through, but investigate where the coils are and drill through where they weren't, just like the original drain hole appears to have been done.

I do need to experiment with beer lines in the freezer though. I was thinking if I insulate them they might not freeze. We'll see....

As for the "sneakerator" idea...I like it, but there just isn't enough space in the freezer to do something like that.

I still haven't really dug into it yet, just observed. when I do dig in, I'll give an update.

p.s. also of note...there is a drain hole in the fridge compartment that is big enough to run my gas line through. I am excited about that as I don't need to put another hole in the fridge or keep the Co2 inside the fridge.
