Some might already be doing this but if you are looking to reduce your lag time try this:
I make yeast starter on stir plate 10 to 1 with dme 3 days in advance refridgerate the night before brew day. During brew session decant starter, let warmup to room temperature. When I take my hydrometer sample for the OG reading I also pull about 250 to 300 ml of wort wich I cool and add to the starter and return to the stir plate. Let that ride until wort is chilled to pitch temp and oxygenated by then the starter is active and ready to go. Today I finished brewing around 3 and just before bed checked on beer and it was already bubbling away only 5 hours after pitching.👍

That is pretty much how I do it as well. Do you notice much of a difference in lag time if you add some of the wort to to starter? I usually just pour it into my fermenter once it has reached room temp.

the last brew day I made yoopers oatmeal stout and the lag time was less than 5 hours before there was action in the airlock. So I think that adding some wort back to the starter after decanting and giving it a spin on the stir plate gets the yeast active before the pitch.
