I almost have all my eqip. to start AGB'ing I have the 30 qrt. Turkey fryer, IC, Keg and C02 tank and will get my MLT this week. I have just this 1 question at this second. I only have the 1 burner and pot, do I need another or can I just fill my 30 qrt. with enough water to to dough in and then heat up my sparge water while thats sitting and collect all runnings in a primary bucket then transfer all to kettle?

Yes, you could do that. What I do is heat the strike water in in my brew kettle and also the water for mash out (which heats while I'm mashing), and I use my "old" canning pot that I used to use for brewing to heat the sparge water. It barely holds five gallons, but it's big enough. Then, after I drain the first runnings, I drain right to my brew kettle and start it on the flame so it gets to a boil faster.

Heat some water in a pot on your stove in the house so it's ready if you need it.

Wade E >> that is the exact procedure I use for all grain brewing. Works well and saves on money by not having a seperate burner with HLT.

Thanks, Im a little stressed for cash at the moment with buying all this equip. and still have a few things to get that my LHBS didnt have in stock at the moment like keg lube, starsan, ph 5.2 and I just plain forgot to buy the Irish moss and Gypsum. DoI really need 5.2 or is gypsum almost the same thing?

Just get the Star 5.2 stabilizer. It just works without fussing over things like measuring several other chemicals to get the PH correct.

I use the Whirlfloc tabs instead of irish moss as it works better. This is a wort clairifier and has nothing to do with PH.
