Did anyone watch the new show V, I guess its a remake. It was ok, im not relly a big sci-fi guy. The special effects are cool. Anna is hot but kinda afraid of what is bellow the flesh.

You didn't see the original? I won't spoil what's under the flesh then but instead suggest you hide your hamsters.

I'm going to wait to watch these till I see if it gets canceled. I hate getting into something only to have it canceled just when its getting good.

I remember watching the original and it was a big surprise (at least to me when I was a kid) what was "below the flesh"

It's kind of like watching one of M. Night Shyamalan's movies after watching The Sixth Sense. You know there is some big surprise coming and you spend the whole movie trying to figure it out and waiting for it.

I dont remember when the original came out. What year did it run?

I think it was 82-86ish

Edit: The original miniseries was 1983

I just looked on wikipedia and it says:
Four episodes of V will be aired in November 2009, and the series will be resumed in March 2010 after the 2010 Winter Olympics to complete its 13 episode season.

So I wont even consider watching any of them until after april or may when its all over.

I thought that this would have something to do with V for Vendetta...

after all:
Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why the Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.

It's on the Tivo waiting for a a chance to be watched.

You can catch the original mini series on Google Video. Trippy as all get out when it was broadcast in 3D..

I watched it. I'm a pretty big Sci-fi fan and thought I would like it more than I did. Yes Anna is pretty hot. Not as hot as Inara on Firefly, but still hot (They made her kind of creepy, which doesn't help).

Anyway, maybe I will like it more as it goes along, but it really wasn't much different in style than many other shows. They also ruined the surprise in the first episode (as much as you could ruin a surprise that has been out since the early 80s.)

Best part was Alan Tudyk got a guest role. (Dude needs a main character role!)

It will get cancelled I tried watching for about ten minutes and the acting was unbearable...

I have it recorded and tried to watch a few minutes of it so I would know who is who. Man, I think they made a set and paid the actors on $100.00 a day.
I will watch it just because I remember the original.

Not to spoil it, but the original series, in the credits, mentions a book. One of those "Based on..." lines. For the life of me, I cant remember the book name. But the story in the book is a modern retelling of how the Nazi party came to power.

...

Its a direct corollary!

I'm too young to remember the original. I did catch the pilot on hulu this weekend though. I think they spoiled a little too much in the first episode. Although the "secret" has been out since the 80's, it would have been nice to leave a little bit up to the imagination. They have already given away kind of what the "V's" are, that they plan to wipe out human civilization, and that there is a human resistance. They should have spread all that info out over a few episodes. I guess I'm a little spoiled though. I just started watching Lost for the first time on Hulu. I'm on the second season and there are STILL things they haven't explained!

I am almost afraid to get into shows these days because so many of them get canceled. I was a big Terminator fan and that got pulled. .. .

This show looks like it has potential, but I agree that they packed about 7 episodes into the pilot.

I was very young when the original was out, but I remember being pretty freaked by it. . .

Ha ha...

I am a BIG fan of Lost. BIG. HUGE.

Season 2 is frustrating, but I can not wait until you get to the end of season 3. If it has not been spoiled for you, the season finale is a mind trip.

Dont feel bad that there are unanswered questions. At the end of Season 5, there are still things that are unanswered: What is the smoke Monster? Why does the island appear to heal people? Who exactly are the others?

All will be revealed starting in Feb.

Caught the show on Hulu yesterday at work. I personally enjoyed it. Didn't think the acting was too bad. And like others said... Anna is HOTT! Can't wait to catch more episodes when they come out!
