Using whole hops????

When using whole hops do I throwin the whole cone or do I need to pick the stem out of the middle of the cone. If I use the whole cone will it give tannins?

I don't pick anything out. In one of my batches of IPA, I found a 6" piece of twine when draining the kettle.

I like the sweetness the dried aphids add, but there are no tannins in hops, even the vines.

If you pick the stems out, don't buy magnum. It frequently has leaves IN the cones. Weird stuff.
