I am not usually one for flavoring my beer with anything other than beer, but we just moved into a new home and the neighbor has a gorgeous white peach tree that grows into our yard. Summer coming, other people liking fruit flavored beers, and having fresh fruit to use means I want to give it a whirle. Probably with a Belgian style beer similar to something like Golden Monkey. When would be the best time to add and how much for a 5 gallon batch. I was thinking during the boil and heck I don't know maybe 5 small peaches. Thoughts?

I have my first fruit beer in process now, so no expert but I researched it first (a Berliner Weiss on cherries). From all I've read and heard, 1lb per gallon is a good starting point, then adjust from there. Most folks rack onto the fruit in secondary. For peaches which have a more subtle flavor than some fruits, you might want more than 5 pounds. Where as some more acidic or strong flavoredfruit, less may be better. You could always start with something close to 4 lbs. then taste after a week and add more.
