So I was going to get vodka to soak some peanuts in before throwing them in the secondary and I saw some coconut vodka. Would it work to use coconut flavored vodka to soak it in if I try to make a coconut porter with some strong coconut flavor? I'd still toast some coconut for the secondary but I've heard it's hard to get a lot of coconut flavor from real coconut.

Or what about coconut extract like this? http://www.olivenation.com/Pure-Coc...385_a_7cECC4&gclid=CNmAtZm5nrkCFTFo7Aod6icAaQ

You can always split you batch up in secondary and try different things. If you have any 1/2 gallon glass growlers, those work great for this. They mouth is big enough to hold an air lock and if it doesn't turn out, you are only out a half gallon of beer just make sure to scale everything. For that half gallon.

Cheers

Greg
