I’ve read some previous threads about this but figured I’d ask tonight to get some fresh opinions (no pun intended). I have crushed grains that are a little under a month old. They’ve been stored in a zip loc bag on my kitchen counter with a temp in the mid to high 70s. You think these grains will be good for another few days? It’s mostly US 2 row with some darker malts (for a brown ale). Anytime I brew I get my grains from the LHBS and use them within a few days but stupid life got in the way of me using them lately. I only do 1.75 Fallon batches to I won’t be destroyed if I have to dump the grains, but I’d prefer not to. I’ve taken pinches of it and it tastes fine. Thanks

I have a cardboard tube of rolled oats. That is the only thing listed on the ingredients so there should be no preservative. I have no idea how long those oats had been in that tube before I bought them but I don't expect the last of them to be used for a few more months. They are stored in a cupboard at room temp. I expect them to taste the same in a few months as they do now. The worries about a few days or weeks for your milled grains is often misplaced.
