I'm a complete newbie, but I don't want to buy a beginner kit just to upgrade later. I was thinking of a brewzilla instead of going the kettle and burner route.
Is there any reason not to go this way? I see myself doing this for some time.

There are plenty of people who would not see a brewzilla (or similar all-in-one) as an "upgrade" from a traditional setup, but if it's what you want, go for it. I can't think of any reason you couldn't boil extract batches in one.
