I'd play...but mine is absolute nonsense, created it for a MMORPG (ohh yea i'm that nerd) way back in the mid 90's. Of course now I see it used from some crummy industrial band and randomly through the net.

Mine is pretty straight forward of what it refers to @TheMadKing has seen it first hand. The interesting thing is how and why it came about.

I use to cycle a lot, 6000+ miles in a year was normal. A century ride once a month at various places around the state or adjoining states was common. Each ride you would find new friends that rode at your ability level. You would ride, talk and enjoy their company for hours. Once back to the finishing point everyone would take of their helmet, sunglasses and kit. You would have a hard time recognizing people you just spent the last 4+ hours riding with. The one distinguishing feature I have are the tattoos on my legs. So when others were trying to say who they had ridden with I became known as that guy "With ink on his legs". Over time they condensed it so in the pace line or parking lot it became Inkleg.

I suppose clues are unnecessary for mine. Yep, it means that too.

Love the name passedpawn. Reminds me of this kid who used to unleash the dreaded triple pawn attack. There's no way to beat that move, and I never wanted to.

Mine is bog simple to figure out. It's one of a small group of radio callsigns that I use to identify myself, depending on where in the world I am or what I'm doing at the moment.

Back in the 90s when the Prodigy network still existed, I heard about this new company called Yahoo that was giving away free email accounts. I thought it would be pretty cool to have Yoohoo @ Yahoo, but that was taken, as was Hooyoo @ Yahoo. I made several similar attempts, and they were taken too. I finally got one that worked, but it wasn't remotely funny. I've kept using Whovous on various fora because I am too lazy to think of something amusing and because I can always be confident it is available.

Good story.

I remember using yahoo when it was a stanford.edu domain. It was a pretty good substitute for the odd internet phone books that you could buy back then (true!).
