I used the 5.4 pH balancer in my last two brews. I didn't read the label clearly and used WAY more than I was supposed to. I think my beer is probably ruined, but I don't want to dump it until I have some solid info.

I used at least 1 full cup of this stuff for a 5 gallon batch, and discovered later that I was supposed to use 1 tbls per 5 gal of mash liquor. Oops, rookie mistake. Someone let me know what I should do!

Maybe call the manufacturer and ask them. They know the product inside and out. You could also request an MSDS sheet to find out about all the chemical properties and health risks.

I personally wouldn't ask anyone on here what to do unless they are qualified to do so. They may say they did something similar and it turned out fine, but there's a difference between acute (short term) and chronic (long term) damage.

It's food safe and edible, so it isn't going to kill you. However, I think it has a ton of various salts in it, so I would imagine your brew isn't actually going to taste very good.

the main thing I'm worried about is that I ruined a 5 gallons+6.5 gallons of ale. A porter and an APA. I just tasted the porter, it's only been in the bottle a week, but it tastes like soap
