I have a friend that was at a sports bar on 2 dollar plastic bottle night. He collected 44 plastic Miller Lite bottles with the tops. I cleaned them right away, and put them away. When I bottled my latest brew I filled three of these plastic bottles. They firmed up right away and seem to be fine. The longest I've ever had a beer after its been bottled is about two months so long term storage is not a problem. Is there anything else I should be concerned about? What about new caps? Are they available? Thanks

Al

I'm using plastic Coors Light bottles and the caps seem to hold up fine. If you think about it, a 2-liter soda bottle makes it through probably 10 or more open/close cycles before it gets thrown out. Unless you find some of your bottles are not holding carbonation, I wouldn't worry about new caps.
