Found someone on Craig's list selling use 12 oz bottles and wine bottles. They are a homebrewer moving and wants to sell them. She said make an offer. She has a bunch of them. What is a good offer per cases of used bottles? $5 each? I'm sorry for the stupid question, but I'm still a noob.

Thanks!

You can usually get a case (24) for under $18.00 without shipping. That's $.75 a bottle. I wouldn't offer much more than $.50 a bottle.

I love this site because the quick replies. I just emailed and asked if they are pry off and if the labels are removed. I can buy them at my LHBS for $14 a case, but if I can get them for half the price I'm interested. I just need to know a good price to offer.

Bottles at many recycling centers are 35 cents each. I often go to Hy-Vee grocery stores that have carry in bottle returns and ask to buy bottles for a nickle each but then you have to do the work to remove the labels. If you don't want to do the work to remove the labels then $3-5 per case is a fair price depending on the volume of the bottle, thickness and the quality of the glass used.

I just got a 8 12 packs worth of bottles for free by posting in the wanted section on Craigslist in my area. It was well worth the effort of cleaning them myself to get them for free.

I get my bottles from beer festivals after they are over I usually get 12-18 cases each time. Usually a good mix of 12& 22s
