Has anyone used an IC and recirculating CFC at the same time? I was thinking of picking up a plate chiller to use in conjuction with my 25' IC. Im thinking this would be the best of both worlds except for the extra cleanup. Not a hug deal IMO.

Any cons to doing this?

did it today on a Obsidian Stout clone, pumped out of my kettle through my CFC then back to the kettle via my Jamil's whirlpool chiller where I have a 50' IC. I run a splitter for my hose water in and out. Granted here in Oregon our tap water is nice and cool but my wort went from boiling to 70deg in 10 min.

I was thinking adding the whirpool mod to my IC would make it more efficient. Ill have to make that my next priority. Glad to hear it works good. Up til my last batch, I was just soaking the kettle in ice water, so Im excited to see how proper cooling changes my beer.
