I got my SWMBO to agree to upgrading my brewing system.

First I had to upgrade her wedding rings...we had a nice tax return coming to us that made the first step easy. Afterwards I mentioned that my brewing system could stand a decent upgrade....

Since I have a few health issues, she said if my heart doc gave his okie dokie that my ticker is good....she'd be OK with me upgrading my system. He said that it was better than good !

Here's a pic of my upgraded system.

For anyone considering going to AG brewing, I'll be putting my 60,000 btu burner, and Rubbermaid MLT and HLT in the classified section with pics, It's storming outside today, but I've tested my burners, pumps, and weldless fittings. Tomorrow morning... I brew....

It might be too controversial to reply on the public forum ... and I really wouldn't want to be classified as a troll stirring up a bunch of harsh feelings. I'll be glad to respond to questions about the stand via PM's.

I just finsihed my first half of batch sparging and am waiting for the 2nd filter bed to calm down again before recirculating again. The first recirculation produce a crystal clear wort. I think i've learned how to mash and recirculate with this new setup.

The boil should be starting up in about 10 more minutes!

The maiden voyage was a success.

Note to self: While boiling, don't rest a kettle lid on a hop spider - they tend to get deformed with heat.

Recirculating the wort makes a very clear wort

Had to add a pic of my hop rocket blasting off into my fermenter...that's just a water leak from a leaky garden hose fitting.

All in all....this was another good brew day....can't wait to taste this IPA batch.
