so i went to make a cantaloupe syrup today to add to my seltzer to make some cantaloupe soda, so as i would other fruit syrup i added the fruit, sugar and water to a pot, and brought to a boil and left to simmer a while. well apparently when you cook cantaloupe it develops a taste like a boiled vegetable. its bitter and green tasting like boiled green veggies, so i added more sugar and reduced it down to a very thick syrup hoping it would sweeten and concentrae the cantaloupe flavour, nope it was ****. any tips on what i did wrong or how to actually do it? and i dont have a blender so i cant blend up and strain off cantaloupe which would prob work.
