OK, I got my half barrel and it's cut (still need a bulkhead fitting for it). I got my cooler and manifold all set and ready to go. and I got my counterflow wort chiller finished just waiting for the first AG batch but I have one little teeny problem . . .
HOW THE HECK DO I GET THE FLUX WASHED OFF MY COPPER?
I tried washing, I tried scrubbing, I tried vineger, I tried boiling . . .
but that waxy feel is still there. I also have a bit of smoke stain in my half barrel yet too (from the plasma cutter) and running the same problem with it. Next step is Barkeepers Friend but I'm starting to lose faith.
Anyone got any suggestions? Would Star San do it? I went to the LHBS the other day but it was closed (I tend to get my days of the week mixed up) and the wine makers shop didnt have it . . .
