Hi,
I am new, and about to start my third batch of beer. I started with the TrueBrew Bavarian Hefeweizen, and the first batch I made turned out so well that I though it was the best beer I had ever tasted, as did my neighbor and my boss! I then brewed a second batch, and this batch was good, but not as phenomenal. I noticed that the second batch came with the German Hallentauer hops, while the first came with the Liberty hops. I had found out that TrueBrew had indeed changed the ingredients.
No problem - I had saved the instructions of the first batch, and was able to find the Liberty hops on line. However, when comparing the instructions of the two sets, I realized that the older recipe, which I liked more, included listed 2 oz of the Liberty hops, while the new version had 1 oz of the Hallentauer. Then I started googleling the web for the TrueBrew with the Liberty hops, and found both 2 oz and 1 oz versions.
Which is the correct one? Could I have had better results in my second batch had I put in 2 oz of Hallentauer?
Any advice would be much appreciated before I do my third batch...
