Can you plug a refrigerator and a freezer into the same outlet. I've been told you shouldn't plug two compressor using appliances into the same outlet, because it will cause the compressors to prematurely fail. I only have one outlet on the wall that my kegerator is currently plugged into and I want to plug my fermentation chamber into the other available plug in that outlet. Am I asking for trouble?

Supposedly, the momentary drop in power when one of the two compressors cycle is the issue. It's a 20amp circuit on that plug, so I can't imagine a cycling compressor would draw it down much if at all.

I used to try running both of the rooftop AC's in my motor home at the same time. I'd get away with it for hours sometimes, but eventually they'd both try to cycle on at the same time and throw a breaker.

Eventually I settled for either closing off the half I wasn't in, or setting a floor fan to blow cool air from one half to the other.

But as far as I can tell, I didn't do the circuit breakers or the AC's any damage....
