I'm trying to use beer smith to figure out efficiency, but I would also like to figure out how to do this by hand. I recently brewed an Oktoberfest from Austin Home Brew. Pre boil gravity was 1.040 with 6.5 gallons. Final was 1.060with 5 gallons and the orignal specific gravity 1.054.
Recipe was:
1/2 lb Cara Munich
1/2 lb Cara Vienne
4 1/2 lb German Pilsner Malt
6 1/2 lb Munich Malt
