I just returned from a family trip to Charlotte, NC and of course had to visit all the local craft breweries I could.

On the way there, I stopped at Wicked Weed Brewpub in Asheville. It was great (even though I only spent an hour there). Had a flight in the basement. Which is the "cooler" area of the brewpub. The upstairs is more of a restaurant.

North of Charlotte is Huntersville, which is where I was staying. I checked out three of the breweries there: D9, Ass Clown, & Primal. All three were worth going back to and bringing some beer home. D9 had a good variety. With some great sours.

Ass Clown had an overabundance of brews. Too many taps to count and experiments with complex flavor combonations.

Primal had 11 beer selections and of the six I tried, all were fantastic. The top of the list goes to the Grim Creeper (Imperial IPA).

You didnt hit up Noda in the arts district? They took home gold at their first GABF with their flagship IPA
