Treating my keggle

I just cut of my lids for my keggle. The jig got stuck in a couple spots and the stainless heated up red hot a couple times. These areas are discolored now.

Do i need to treat the areas so that they do not rust or will they be ok because i didn't get them as how as if welding on a fitting?

Just scrub it down with Bar Keepers Friend. It'll come out bright, shiny and passivated.
