Here's the deal. I live in Alaska and can never get my hands on Russian River brews. Next month my buddy is going to visit the Russian River brew pub and I've asked him to bring back a couple bottles of Consecration. I plan on propagating the dregs and pitching them in a Flanders.

I anticipate relocating out of Alaska by next spring. I won't be able to move any beer with me. How do I take those wonderful Russian River bugs with me that I've waited so long to get? I thought maybe I'd save the oak cubes from the Flanders. Can I just vacuum seal them after they're inoculated with the bugs? Will they keep at room temp? Should I dry the cubes first?

I bet Sarah Palin could get you some. She can see Russia from her house.

I would inoculate some oak chips after boiling them, they have lots of pores to absorb bugs. I think vacuum sealing them would work for a medium length storage.
