We’ve decided to get back into brewing after 10 years away. Can anyone help me transfer my old recipes from my desktop version of BeerSmith to my new mobile version?

You can copy/share the recipes in the cloud on your desktop and the mobile version will see them.
My desktop version is from 2009 or so. I don’t have it in front of me now but I’ll have a look and see if that was a feature back in the dark ages. Thanks.

Definitely worth upgrading. I build all my recipes on desktop, saved to Cloud. Mobile picks them right up.

Same, build it on my tablet and I use my tablet as I actually brew as I find the app pretty clunky. The app is good for when someone will ask what yeast I used, grain bill, etc., and I can just look right on my phone.

Highlight the recipes you want to copy to the cloud, right click on them and one of the options is "copy to folder"...then select the cloud folder in Beersmith. You will then have the recipes in both locations, but note that if you change anything in cloud recipe it does not automatically update the desktop or visa versa. I believe a basic Beersmith subscription only lets you store 15 recipes on the cloud Gold level desktop sub gives you the web version too and allows storing 125 recipes on the cloud. Platinum gives you 300, Pro gives you 750.

Option 2 - Buy BrewFather for $30, export your Beersmith recipes as XML files, then import them in Brewfather and Brewfather can be accessed either on your computer or on your phone

I wish there was the ability to save other files associated with a specific version of a brew, i.e., a score sheet, a picture or maybe a pdf of the original recipe, etc.

I've thought about that as well. It would be nice to save a jpg image of my beer's fermentation as outputted by my Pill. Maybe in the Notes section of that particular brew day.

jdauria is correct. That's what I do. I have a Beersmith pro account with 1000 recipes. As I travel around the world, I write recipes of beers I like into my iPhone Beersmith app and they are all on my laptop ready for editing and refining when I get back home. I have written several home brew recipe books that way.
