i have a corny keg more than half full of IIPA. dont really feel like doing keg to bottle transfers and would prefer keeping the keg full of beer. moving from my house about 60 miles to another house. whats the best way to keep my beer intact and not funk it up? should i just disconnect the co2 and put it in my car? should i bleed the keg?

Unless you're practicing for a rally race on the way unhooking it and just giving it a day or two to settle would be fine.

If you're going over some butt-ugly roads, why not invite some friends over and kick the keg? Gives you an empty keg to fill up as soon as your brew gear is at the new place. :rockin: If the roads are good, then just move it over. I don't think you'll have any issues unless you carbonate really high. If in doubt, put it back into the fridge/keezer and let it rest a few days before connecting it back up again. :ban:

thanks, think im just gonna kill as much as possible w/ a few friends and bottle the rest if there is any left. good advice to know in the future though, i always wanted to know how much beating a keg could take before you had a problem. i assume off road 4 wheel driving would screw up my brew....

Might work well for force carbing a new batch though.

Very true... Maybe if you bleed the keg a little before you go 4x4 wild, and give it some time to recover, you should be ok... It could be a good experiment to see how home brew handles going off roading. Although I probably wouldn't use a batch that you really like, or cost a decent amount to make for the first run. Might be better off using soda, now that I think about it. I would make sure that the keg is isolated from you, so that IF the keg does fail, you won't be harmed.
