It came from the Balcones distillery in TX. My LHBS had about 50 for awhile. I soured it after the third use (Imperial stout, then Imperial Rye Smoked Porter). A lot of oak in the first one...

That is awesome. What size, type of wood, and char is it? Ive been looking to get one but still not sure what.

It's 5 gallon, oak. Not entirely sure on the char, but its pretty dark. Less so now after 3 uses. If I had to do it again, I'd get a bigger one, just due to surface area/evaporation and eventual versatility. I wish I'd taken the first beer out about 2-3 weeks before I did; 6 weeks on a first-use small barrel is too long.

Good starter barrel to learn from though (plus I got it insanely cheap).

Its all gone. There n'er a bottle to be found in the city...at least that my 2 hours search on Monday yielded.

I'm hoping my shop sees a second shipment, same as the last few years. Dunno what I did to anger the beer gods, but they did not shine on me this time around.

I'd suggest you keep looking. Seems they've botched a lot of the distribution this year. I have three local places that were supposed to have it but haven't gotten it and their deliveries are rescheduled for this week. Oddly, the grocery store is supposed to hold a 4 pack for me and another for my wife, but the liquor stores are all first-come-first-serve.

Even stranger, I was able to get a bottle of Vanilla and two bottles of coffee, but haven't seen a single bottle of regular BCBS yet.

Well, last year (different store, different town), the guy in front of me in line got the last coffee BCBS, so i sympathized.

Last year, they also had TONS of regular BCBS, and i got a 15% discount for buying a full case. They would have sold me multiple cases if i wanted them.
