Guess depends on distributor or retail aka mark up. It is truly insane sometimes. I saw a Atrial Rubicide at $22 at a store in Austin. It was $16 at the brewery. I think they bought it at JK and are now reselling it. Thats one reason i never buy bottles at the bar. Always double the price.

I can't believe how much more expensive things really are in Philly for you guys, even over Chicago, which I've always thought was really high in comparison to other states.

Although, I'm taking a trip out to San Fran in August and I was perusing some bottle shops websites out there to see where I can go in relation to where I'm staying, and DAMN, they are expensive too in relation to here, for the same beers, that are made just down the street from them! How a bottle can cost $5 cheaper in Chicago than SF when it has to travel all the way across the country, I have no clue.

Well in PA (and I suspect CA) it is the arcane and archaic distribution laws that cause this robbery.

I didn't think that AR made it outside of the brewery.

Around here, many craft beer bars markup almost 3x on your regular shelf bombers. For anything more special, it's usually a little less, like 2x.
That's why I only drink draft at those bars.

To my knowledge it wasnt.

Someone in Texas has a delivery!
ME???:p

My wife sent me a picture of the box. Can't wait to get home. On the way, I'll be picking up my EMAW from the FedEx store. What a great way to end the week! :D

Tell her to put the box in the fridge! I sent it in a small box so this would possible. That way you could crack one open when you get home!

The hassle that UPS is putting me through with that broken shipment is really making me considering hanging up my trading for a bit. They are fighting tooth and nail saying that the bottles broke inside the box. There is no possible way, explainable with basic laws of gravity, to pin this on me. The box was packed so well that it was practically air tight with packing peanuts and bubble wrap. lol these people are out of the GD minds. I asked for pictures of the unbroken box that it was shipped in to prove that the damage was done inside. They can't produce it or give me a report on where the damage was first spotted.

Im sure its annoying and frustrating, but the worst thing you can do is to give in. It sounds like you already have them beat since they cant come up with proof. Dont let them win! :rockin:

I'm going to fight them tooth and nail...there is no WAY I'm going to give in with this sort of thing.

Nice! There was just some talk about 3L bottles on the MAW thread yesterday, I was thinking about how many friends I would want around to open one of those bad boys...

I can tell you we are looking at at least 5 of the 3L bottles opened at my birthday now, and we have 20+ RSVP'ed as yes.

I think I would want a bunch of friends to stand around and witness me kill it by myself.
Or at least 1 person to make sure I don't drown in my own sick after the attempt.

Well, 12.12.12 is 9% ABV and Dragon's Milk is 10%. 3L is about .8 Gallons. I Suppose if you were drinking it over the course of an evening you could do it...

That's not nearly as bad as I thought...I could do it.....I've actually have done it too, last October at an Octoberfest party at Frankford Hall I had three 1 liter glasses of a 6.5% Marzen in about three to four hours.
I was ok at the end, was just running to the bathroom every 10 minutes.
