Empty. I got there around 1:45. There were maybe 7 or 8 people there, 2 of them walked in, grabbed bottles and left. I was worried it would be packed but remembered its a thursday. Being unemployed payed off.

Such an underrated brewery. Glad there is only a little hype surrounding them, makes it easier for me to continue finding bottles of SMS around.

Yeah, no kidding. I dound sms to be better than kbs. And riserva is damn near one of the best fruites sours around. Wish they would do a wine barrel aged riserva

Finding a few people to agree that SMS is better shouldn't be hard to find any more lol.
I agree on the Riserva, and you can STILL find it around. A Cabernet Riserva...holy ****, my taste buds need to change their shorts after that thought

A wine barrel? That would make my lady bits tingle with excitement.

Long overdue return box of locals and home brew out for delivery to @bucknuts today!! :rockin:

Looking forward to it. I will be out shopping for the next 6 hours against my will so will need beer when I get home.

Reading that made my man bits tingle with excitement. But Riserva would be great in any barrel. After drinking so many bourbon barrel beers, i'm finding the wine barrel to be a great treatment. Beers like ddg, sporadic and hand farm are just so sexy. Or maybe its just that sours go better in something more subtle, where as a big RIS needs that big bold bourbon to play nice together.

All this Riserva talk got me hot and bothered. My guy says he still has a few more after my lunch time pick up today.

Those bottles just sing...

"If you want my body and you think I'm sexy
come on sugar let me know.
If you really need me just reach out and touch me
come on honey tell me so
Tell me so baby"

I know, and relatively speaking, they're a decent price. For philly. I'll probably clean him out later. Any idea when the next batch will get released?

Who knows...the v2 kind of took me by surprise. I don't know if their game plan is to keep it as a one time a year release or if they were going to continue the expansion with two times a year.

I doubt it'll be 2x year. 2014 was like a late release of '13 since that never happened and then 2014.2 was probably supposed to be the only '14 release

I have a sour sitting, it was unintentional. I just gave it a dose of brett as well as a pound of tart cherries. I have an oak spiral that will go into a bottle of cab and then into the sour. I agree, sours appreciate the subtleness of a wine barrel.

If that's the case, my guess would be VERY late in the year for the next release...again, only speculating. I dig the fact that they won't release it until its ready. I can totally appreciate that.

Delivered!

On a different note, I realized on the lovechild #5 that is no longer says its blended with barrel aged versions. I wonder if they cut that out to speed things up and thats why they are able to put out #6 this year as well?? Havent tried #5 yet obviously, so let us know when any of you try it!

Personally, i dont think 2014 was ready. It was overly sweet and not nearly tart enough. Its drinking good now though. 14.2 was great when released and getting better. 2012 is amazeballs now. Looking forward to seeing how blood orange tarte nouveau changes.

2012 was the first one I had last year on v-day and I agree, incredible beer. I still really enjoyed the 2014 and have another im sitting on for latter this year. Never did get any 2014.2 though
