I bought a tower shank so I can get to drafts. What should I use to cut the tower hole? and what size?

You'll want about a 7/8" hole. I'd drill a pilot hole and then use a step bit to get it to size.. If it is SS, use lots of pressure, slow drill speed, and plenty of cooling or lubrication and it should be a snap.
