Made my first yeast starter and forgot to compensate for the boil off in the 15 min boil. I end up with less water and did not notice until after I pitched the yeast. Based on the current volume and the amount of DME used, I am at about 1.058. Should I top it off with some pre-boiled water to bring it back down under 1.040?

probably doesnt matter much, but if you havent pitched the yeast then you might as well. If you already pitched the yeast and it has gone through its exponential phase of growth, then there is no point.

I just pitched it to the starter wort 1 hour ago. So I will go ahead and top it up. Thanks for the quick replies.
