Top 5 movie tough guys and gals.

I'm not on about actors and actresses doing a 'tough person role' here, I'm talking about the actual toughest 'Characters' in the movie world.
The kind of Character that feels so real, you wouldn't pick a fight with in a bar in real life.

Here's mine:

#5: 'Tom Mullen' played by Mel Gibson in the movie Ransom.
Overcoming and bravely standing in, an incredibly compromising situation and beating the odds, to save the life of his kidnapped son, then takes on the kidnapper single handed.

#4: 'Ellen' played by Sharon Stone in The Quick And The Dead.
An uncompromising, but not emotionless woman, who overcomes her inner fear of failure, to get justice for her father's murder against a town full of cowards and dangerous gunslingers.

#3: 'Billy' played by Sonny Landham in Predator.
A Marine, a successful Marine, who is "Afraid of no man". Then faces the Predator while armed with only a machete.
Need I say more?

#2: 'John McClane' played by Bruce Willis in the Die Hard saga.
A tough cop with a past, able to adjust to any given situation and does whatever possible to stay alive and bring the bad guys to justice, all at the same time.

My number #1 is: 'Dillon' played by Charles S Dutton in the movie Alien3.
A murderer who reluctantly takes on the role of group leader in an unusually dangerous situation.
He even says "I'll f*ck you" and shouts "Is this as hard as you bite, Motherf*cker?!" as the Alien is tearing him apart!
Now that's tough!

#5 Quint, from Jaws

Lives through the wreck of the Indianapolis, hunts sharks for a living, only killed when a 25 foot great white shark pole vaults onto his boat and after fighting it with a machete.

#4 John Matrix, from Commando

Special Forces soldier who retires to live with his daughter in the woods. She gets kidnapped, he kills everyone.

#3 "Dirty" Harry Callahan

Owner of more catchphrases than you've had hot dinners. One-hands a .44 S&W and dispatches whoever the hell breaks the law.

#2 "Mad" Max Rockatansky

Former cop gone rogue after the death of his wife and son at the hands of a gang of motorcycle crazies. Kills all of them then embarks upon a post-apocalyptic career of journeys and death in his black Pursuit Special

#1 "Man With No Name" from Yojimbo

Rarely shows any emotion; the inspiration for Clint Eastwood's portrayal of badassness, the Ronin With No Name is so awesome that he dupes two gangs into nearly annihilating each other, escapes a near death beating, and takes out the last of the gang in a Western-style showdown, even though one of the gang members has a pistol and RWNN has a friggin knife. Upon completion, he tells the sheriff to go hang himself and strolls out of the town, seemingly not bothered.

'Blain' played by Jesse Ventura.
This guy is soooo busy being bad-ass, that he doesn't even have enough time to bleed. He is also know as a "god-damn sexual tyrannosaur."

Bill the Butcher - Daniel Day-Lewis in "Gangs of New York" is both my favorite movie villain and the most bad ass. Passionate, ruthless, and he cut out his own eye after being shamed by his rival. All round bad ass. He also has the best outfits ever.

First character that comes to mind is Mel Gibson's character "Porter" in Payback.

Classic badass.

Kurt Russell in "Tombstone" was pretty badass... "you gonna do something or just stand there and bleed?"

Clint in "Unforgiven" was BAD. When he comes out of the bar and announces that he'll kill any man that takes a shot at him, then kill his family, and burn his farm... That was bad ass.

Samuel Jackson in "Pulp Fiction": "Say what again motherfu..er"... My wallet's the one that says bad motherf..er on it..."

Antonio as 'El Mariachi' in "Desperado" was pretty bad.

Quint in "Jaws" was bad... but the shark was badder.
