Hey everyone,
My brother and I bottled our first batch a couple weeks ago. I popped one open after 1 week just to see how things were going. It tasted pretty good, a little better than I expected. It seemed like it carbed up a little too much though. Same story at 2 weeks. Had pretty big bubbles and a lot of them, more than any beer I've ever had. We followed the instructions on our kit for priming sugar, and used the whole 5 oz package. For our next batch, we ended up a little short on beer (only 4 gallons in the bottling bucket, not sure what happened, think we may have lost a lot when transferring) so I put a little less of the sugar/water solution in the bucket. Wondering if there's a more exact way to figure out how much sugar to use so we can stop buying the packages and so it doesn't over/under-carbonate. Thanks!
