Hi guys,

Been a busy hot few weeks here, hop yard is all planted and last years new plants are doing great, and Hopzilla is doing even better. All 20 plants I split and moved last year are shooting all over the place. So question now, is it too late, are these too mature to thin out? In the sunny interior of BC, we have had 2 weeks of 15-20C and ground is warm. I had shoots in March showing. :D

So these are 2 of the biggest plants. If any, which shoot should I trim out? There are about 3-5 big heavy shoots and tons a smaller ones. Big ones are over 3' long now. Putting up twine today.

Thanks all.

The big shoots are probably bull bines and they should definately go. I wouldn't worry about cutting all bines back to ground level. They will grow back. Hops are tenacious
