Sure, that will work...
BUT your current batch is not lost... meaning YOU can enjoy it.
Put in a nice cool place and let it age.... it will mellow with time and can develop some neat flavors.
I brew a high hopped IPA with Warrior and Citra and can't drink it for at least two months and it become "golden" in four.
Lots of complex flavors going on.
It is true that many AMERICAN Pales and IPAs are supposed to be consumed young but I have found I like them better aged.
